GameBoy projects…

gb.jpgI’ve been banging away at a huge article on GameBoy projects. So far– store dozens of games on one cartridge, using freeware / home brew and public domain games, emulators (Sinclair, NES, SNES, GB/C), running Unix, photos, videos, music and some other goodies. The picture in this post is the slideshow application with the Make logo. Anything else I should include? Email, AIM/iChat or Skype me.

Well, you’ve got the DS pictured so you could mention the new DS homebrew Tetris game and perhaps have an update on the DS wireless tunneling projects. Other than that it looks like you’ve got it covered.

Very cool project page. Personally I am interested in potential hardware modding projects. Is it feasible to customize the GB or DS to accept a serial or USB input? I imagine the cable would need modifications as well. Specifically what I have in mind is combining GB/DS with a second device (separate enclosure) of about equal size containing EEG biofeedback hardware.

I’m interested in using the GB or GBA display for other uses and in conjunction with my MAC. For instance, how about a screen that will display the ID tag info for a song playing in iTunes. Or how about displaying the sender and subject of a new e-mail message. MAKE it even better by being able to close the lid on my Powerbook. I have a couple of GBs and being able to at least use the displays (bw and color) for other purposes would be great.
