wikiHow is a collaborative writing project to build the world’s largest how-to manual. With your contributions, we can create a free resource that helps people by offering clear, concise solutions to the problems of everyday life. There are a ton of articles, here’s a good one on making your own Lineman’s phone. Link.

When I first saw this I was really excited. “What a great idea,” I thought. Unfortunately, after visiting the site… I’ve come away with a bad taste in my mouth. 99% of the articles are moronic (example: there are two articles… two… on how to pick your nose), and the 1% that might contain useful information… don’t (example: in the “How to Listen to Podcasts” article one of the directions is “Complete the installation process by clicking “next” in several windows to agree to the default settings.” (the rest aren’t that much better)).
Of course, it is a wiki, and hopefully it will get better over time, but it’s current state seems to be pretty bad.
