Heh, no kidding on that Apple II comment! It also brings back memories of the TRS-80 (really sensitive to volume levels on the tape player), but even more so the AlphaMicro 1000. It actually had a RCA port on the back so you could use a VCR for backup. There was once a similar project for the PC (PC-XT days); if I recall it effectively piped each file to your sound card for output to a recorder. Of course, all these examples were analog; using a MiniDV takes you digital. I may just have to dig out the camcorder!
