5 Responses to HOW TO – Freeze a snail and bring it back to life

  1. I hate to sound like a bearer of bad tidings, but animal rights activists are probably going to go absolutely insane about this particular activity, especially the bit about “If your snail turns yellow and breaks in half, you left it in the freezer too long.”

On the other hand, back yard gardners probably think that the snails have it coming.

so far we haven’t heard anything regarding cockroach rights (robot controlled via a roach) or snail re-animating.

  3. So my theory of forced evolution might be in jeopardy?

I have a theory, which I have yet to validate, that under extreme circumstances evolution can be spontaneous, such as a snail sprouting wings and flying when I chuck them over the soundwall behind my house and onto the freeway.

Results have been…. less than promising, but I will continue to try and validate my theory.

I used to do this with bees when I was a kid, minus the water.
Bees in a small pill vial would hibernate and reanimate as long as the freezing wasn’t for too long.
A few hours was the max, I think.
