  1. WD40, spray liberally, should get about twice the life out of it

    otherwise, silicone oil at subzero temps

  2. Lemon juice perhaps? I know it keeps apples from browning as quick.

    You could always cast it into a plaster of paris mould, if you wanted to save your artwork.
