The PSP hackers over at noobz.eu have released a killer tool for fixing any bricked PSP, restoring it to v1.5 firmware. When the PSP boots, the hardware checks for the serial number on the battery eeprom. If it’s 0xFFFFFF, it loads firmware from the memory stick instead of from internal flash. You use a working PSP along with the Noobz team’s tool to create one of these special batteries. With it, operation can be restored on devices that were previously unbootable due to corrupted firmware. It’s also a nice way to completely downgrade your PSP. Pretty cool stuff.

I just did it on my PSP Fat (IE PSP-1000) they just released the PSP-3000 which fixes this trick, but it works on the Slim (PSP-2000) and the Origonal PSP Fat, (PSP1000)
To find out how to make a Pandora’s battery you can watch one of the varius tutorials on youtube or do a quick search on google, this news is probably a good year or so behind but anyone who doesn’t know this is probably very nice.
IMO I loved my Homebrewed PSP 5.00 M33-3 PSP, No longer do you have to pay 50 bucks a game (if you simply want to just try, I buy games I want to play alot and support, 500mb-1G of space is a bit much since the biggest Memory Cards on your PSP is around 4gb)
But, Emulation is amasing. Super Nintendo, Sega Genisis, the Origonal Nintendo, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Color AND it all works exactly like a PC emulator using the same roms and save files and everything.
The Best Emulator is the POPStation, which is the PSOne emulator. I just beat Final Fantasy IX on my psp and it was amasing.
In any Case, this makes buying a PSP totally worth it. Pandora’s Battery and Darkalex need a big thank you for this.
