This film is absolutely amazing. The makers in this film are largely mere hobbyists, but their ideas show an incredible likeness to many projects featured on this site (most notable would be the human powered hydrofoil).

YES! An old friend has a copy. It’s chock full of strange and wonderful stuff.
There are actually two versions, one a little longer than the other. The longer one has a demonstration of a voice synthesizer operated by a keyboard-like interface.
It’s been years since I’ve seen it. I’ll see if I can get Rob to list some of the gizmos.

Holy crap! This movie is awesome! Haven’t thought about in quite a while.
My parents actually have a copy we recorded back in the early 80′s off HBO. As a kid I always liked the section with the buildings blowing up. I wonder if that old tape is still playable…
