Some may call it cheating but many more will call it “Sweeeeeeet”!
Take your game to the next level by modding a Guitar Hero controller with a 555 timer circuit – making inhumanly fast whammy attacks finally a reality. Ryan posted a great how-to (in between solos):

Oh, sweet! Insane whammy-bar action!
There is no point in super fast whammying, the only thing whammying is good for is gaining more star power, and that is a set amount per beat. Basically if the whammy bar moved in the last x amount of time, then you’re gaining star power at a constant rate R. If yo whammy once per beat and keep the whammy bar in constant motion, you’re gaining SP at rate R, and if you whammy 500 times per beat, you’re still gaining SP at rate R. That said, auto whammy is convenient for maximizing SP earned, so whatever speed is easiest to automate should be the one to be used.
Hey, will this work for the X-plorer xbox 360 controller? I know the ps2 version uses 3.6V but the Xbox 360 has a max of 5V because of the USB port it uses. Will I need to drop it down lower or is it fine where it is?

Pardon my French but “Excuse-m-wa!” I ment 3.3V not 3.6V. Big difference…
I can not condone this hack. I take pride in my soulful whammy action, which has been known to impress those-who-otherwise-play-better-than-I. The whammy bar is the only freedom of expression you have in the game, and someone wants to automate it? For shame!
Otherwise, keep up the good work.
