How’s it going? I took some snaps of the various Make displays at Foyles on Charing Cross Road in London. Foyles have backed Make from Day One – they’d spotted it on the O’Reilly website and were ready with an order the first time I approached them about Volume One. Somehow this was communicated to their customers and they sold out within the week. Since then, they have been the biggest stockist of Make in the UK, and get very excited whenever a new volume comes in, and their customers have stuck by them even when they could order Make on subscription.

At present they have three separate Make displays:

• a tall, two-sided stand with four volumes of Make per side. This display comes complete with four small homemade mirrorballs and is topped by a large homemade mirrorball with Make: written across it in red
• a gondola-topping display with all twelve volumes facing out
• three shelves of Make on the O’Reilly bays, including the Make-related books

It’s a veritable Make Fest! Each and every one of the displays is the result of a lot of hard work on behalf of Foyles computing department staff and is a joy to the eyes.

Foyles have done a magnificent job selling Make and have backed us every step of the way, and it’s great to see they have been rewarded with a loyal stream of customers picking up their copy of Make every quarter.
