Or do like me and just don’t buy them… soda is pretty evil regardless of its container.

  2. There is exactly 1 way of recycling plastic bottles, and it wasn’t in the video. They showed 8 ways to “reuse” it instead.

    Remember:

Reduce – if you don’t buy junk, you won’t have to throw it in a landfill

Reuse – if you do buy junk, try to think of a second purpose for it instead of throwing it in a landfill

Recycle – if the junk has no way to be reused, let it be made into new junk instead of throwing it in a landfill

    Happy Earth Day.

The part where the plastic bottle is used as a shield to target the weedy plant with pesticide spray is very ironic. How is chemical pesticide green?

I thought this video was supposed to promote saving the planet, not promote ecologically irresponsible behavior.

As usual, not everyone “gets” what being green is all about.

Or just take it back to the grocery where they will give you 10 cents for it.

    Cheers!

Plastic bottles can only be recycled once, which isn’t very recyclable at all. Simply don’t buy the damn things. There is are two flotillas in the Pacific with a combined surface area of the entire US and it’s all plastic.

  7. @Beerden – What was sprayed was “Safer Soap” which is environmentally friendly and green. While it actually only kills bugs and not weeds, I was being “green” when I shot this.

Awwww, come on man, you forgot some of the best uses of a 2-liter bottle:

    1) The classic 2-bottle “tornado display”
    2) A bottle (you can use it over and over ;-P)
    3) A buoy of sorts

I dunno, the video was alright I guess. The goal was to promote reusing stuff, but still, some of the stuff was, well, less than creative… I mean, “cut the top off and make a funnel” seriously? I dunno, keep up the good work I guess.

  9. it’s quite sad that there is no recycling of (water ) plastic bottles in US. not for what i’ve seen.

i thought those were actually some pretty creative ideas but i still really prefer the idea of using reusable products. i’ve found a site that has nice products and SURPISINGLY great prices. (www.reduceeveryday.com ) Everything they offer is reusable; i got a set of their water bottles and i LOVE them and even better i never have to buy a plastic water bottle!
