The Core77 blog has a roundup of tons of different mechanisms and techniques for getting every last bit of your toothpaste (or other gels or pastes) from the tube. I’m astounded by the myriad products available for this, and hence I like the plastic free “rub it over the edge of the counter” instructable best.

I lay it flat on my counter and rub my toothbrush over it with firm pressure. I get every last bit out. Except what is stuck near the tip.
If you want to get the last of the last, take a sharp knife/razor and just cut along the side. Then stick your toothbrush inside. Of course this is best if you are single or the only one that uses that toothpaste.
I do a trick similar to imvain2 except I wait until I can’t get any more out of the tube normally. Then, I grab a pair of scissors and cut the tube in half (horizontal/short ways.) Any scissors will do, toothpaste tubes cut easy. You can get an extra 2 brushings out of it no matter how much you squeezed out. This same trick works for shampoo, dishwasher detergent and so on, although some of the harder plastics can be tougher to cut.
Kinda do the same thing as Oracle but.
I usualy drag the tube alon the edge of a counter top/table plate while holding onto the top of the tube.
This makes it flat and squeezes everything to the top.
Works like a charm with all kinds of tubes.
The over the counter-edge trick is THE ticket for mac-n-cheese pouches. Learned it on the MRE pouches back in my army days….when you would do anything for a little more food…..
