Super cute! Make a little chair out of a champagne cork holder via Lifehacker. Dot writes-

This is a fun and easy thing to do with those little wire pieces that hold in a champagne cork. And with New Years Eve coming up, you know we’ll have a few of those lying around!

The resulting tiny chair makes a cute little christmas ornament, or dollhouse furniture, or just an interesting little nicknack! And a neat way to save a momento from an important bottle of champagne (like from a wedding, hot date, or special event)

This is very easy, and some would say obvious, but when I first saw this done I thought it was so cool. And I figured you guys would too !

MAKE blog is generally something which focuses on artistic technology. It is filled with things which people have created with scientific/engineering focus. Art seems to take a backseat. This chair does not fall under either category, taking the role of simple amusement. For amusement we have things such as stumble upon, 4chan and ytmnd. The chair does not require skill or special knowledge, but MAKE traditionally features things which require a certain ability.

Blogs are by natures focused. MAKE blog seems to have been losing that focus. I feel soon MAKE will be filled with origami boats modded radio shack computer cases with red LEDS.

All I ask is that MAKE maintains a standard which continues to inspire awe in me. Something which differentiates it from etsy and keeps me coming back.

@evan – we will indeed have some origami from time to time, but mostly likely no radioshack computer cases. if something is fun, clever and what *makers* send in, we’ll have it on MAKE. these are not printed pages, we can have unlimited content.

I’m with Phillip on this one – it’s a perfectly acceptable submission for the blog. I think of this as more of an impromptu party trick that you can amaze your friends with on NYE, rather than as a craft project. I was actually standing in a friend’s kitchen last night with one of these IN MY HAND and didn’t think of anything useful to do with it – so I just tossed it. Had I seen this blog entry YESTERDAY, I would have known exactly what needed to be done (drunk friends can be easily amused). Personally, I check out this blog almost daily (along with BB), and don’t have the time to do the same with others, so I appreciate the variety of ideas presented here.

MAKE isn’t *just* about technology, it’s about cool and inspirational ideas. This particular entry may not be awe inspiring, but it is at least subtly clever and timely.
