I’ve been an amateur photographer for a couple of years. Strangely, the idea about using the stand as a pole struck me only recently. But it’s a nice possibility to peek above people’s heads or a fence, or to merely get a wider view indoors. (For a reference, the camera is a cheap digital one and the stand, 1.5 m, folds nicely into the pocket.) Of course, this also involves the camera timer.
