Jay sent in this amazing Wiimote controlled coil gun. This is certainly an effective way to protect your cubical from unwanted intruders. Just keep in mind, this is a lot more effective dangerous than the Nerf versions.

I’ve seen some of ioBridge projects recently, and in inspired by “ServoBeer” I thought I’d try my hand at one too! I’m really interested in pervasive sensors and opening up more intuitive ways to control systems and have been fascinated by all the great ways the wiimote been used.

Not Cool. At all. Shoot screwdriver tips?! Why not just equip it with a .270 hollow point and a firing pin? I vote this guy for idiot of the year. Hope he sets it off at his own eye.

I agree it is dangerous, but maybe there is something there that people can learn from. I like to look at it like this:

      Great Wiimote interface
Interesting railgun (interesting as far as any propulsion system)
      Inspiring
      Documented

I hope this project inspires people to build something with the Wiimote, not necessarily a weapon, but something, anything, and share it with our readers.
