Patti at New World Geek sent us a link to this post showing a clever use of rain gutter as a wall-borne gardening system.
The photo was taken by Suzanne Forsling. It’s her gutter gardens, on her house in Juneau, AK. She took the picture for an article she wrote in the Juneau Empire called “How does Your garden grow?”

That’s pretty nifty.
Very cool! No bending over to weed, eliminates most of the vermin damage, 0 footprint, and you could set up a gravity based drip system to irrigate everything
easily.
I’ve been thinking about a turntable system with stacked layers, but this is much easier — nice work!
Hey great! This idea has inspired quite a few people! Just to close the meta-loop – HOMEGROWN is curating a whole homesteading/growing/canning area at Maker Faire Bay Area called The HOMEGROWN Village – makers wanted!
You really shouldn’t be driving nails or screws through your siding.
