Playcrafter is a site where you can create your own game. Accounts on the system are free, and allow you to make and save your own games. There is also a paid level of account that will let you make games with more than 10 levels and some other features.
Games made with Playcrafter can be embedded into web pages, and can also be run on devices that are Flash 9+ friendly.
If you try this out with your students or kids, let us know about it in the comments.

Could someone please list what the “other features” in the paid tier are. I spent some time trying to find out that info from their site, but as far as I can tell you have to sign up for an account first(?) Why the secrecy?
I apologize if the info is there in plain sight and I’m just missing it.
Thanks for pointing this out. That’s an oversight on our part. Here is a comparison of the features you get with a free account vs. a premium account.

Oy, logging in to the make blog is tough. I’m the guy in the video so I can answer the question. In any case, to answer the features list question, we’re not trying to keep any secrets. Any time you do anything that requires premium membership you’ll see the entire list of features that you get when you’re a premium member. For example, if you go into the workshop on playcrafter.com and try to upload music for your game you’ll see the entire list of things that being a member gets you.
Hope that helps,
Curt
