That looks like one rascally rocket to ride, but hey, it’s a PULSE JET! You can buy one of the jets from the maker, on eBay (link on the Instructables item below).

I’m sorry, but that’s just tacky and pointless. There’s literally thousands of FREE plans available. I used to be a member of http://www.pulse-jets.com/phpbb3/index.php
It’s free to join, the people are absolutely brilliant, and better yet there’s close to a hundred different type of pulse jets, ramjets, valveless pulsejet, pulse detonation jets.. You name it, PLANS FOR FREE. A couple of the makers have been featured in PopSci and Junkyard wars.
I’m very incensed that you would post a link to ebay plans that someone would have to buy. Very cheap shot MAKE, you should be trying to save people money, not supporting ripping them off.
Plans are FREELY AVAILABLE AT http://www.pulse-jets.com/phpbb3/index.php
Why pay to get for something you can get freely shared among the actual people who designed it. And didn’t steal it and claim it as their own.
I hope everyone else flags this at Instructables. I thought that Instructables was here to showcase home builds and help educate not hock peoples wares. Ebay and Etsy are for that. It would be slightly different if a kit was offered but a completed unit, no. I feel this violates the spirit of the site.
I think this just shows what is possible.
Where you get the plans and materials is up to you.
If you want the easy way out, go to E-bay and Wally-mart.
If you’re more skilled, it’s dumpster-diving time.
But you have to admit.
It looks like a cool way to make a beer run.
easy peasy to make one yourself, take a canteen, cut the lid, solder a foot long steel tube to it, make the valves, drill 2 holes to make a place for the fuel tank and spark plug, hook up the spark plug to battery which will run continuously when you turn it on, put an aerosol can filled with R/C jet fuel (you can get it from your local hobby shop) in the second hole, hook up the aerosol trigger to your pedals with a string so that when you pedal, you can a “pulse jet”, not a “jet” and superglue it on to the bottom of your seat. The result is a loud, pulse jet boost for when you pedal.
