This supremely cool analog synth with a gorgeous etched-brass faceplace showed up on Steampunk Workshop, via the German synth site Synthesizer Database. The builder is Moritz Wolpert. Apparently, from the Google translation, all the knobs and handles were turned by hand on a lathe and the faceplace was hand-lettered, decorated and etched. The project took him two years.

That last picture really messed with my head when I scrolled down the page – it looked like the image was compressing. I almost rebooted…
Amazing. Try and mass produce that, corporate shills!
Obvious question… How much do you think THAT weighs?? Woof!!
Let’s just say you don’t want to drop it on your foot… or on the floor if you on the 2nd floor of a building lest it go through to the 1st floor! Still, a work of art!!
Is that a MIDI port in the lower left??
Where can we hear the thing — I want it to sound as vintage as it looks.
It’s probably for keyboard input.
Cool. Now lets hear some sweet sounds come out of that thing too!
Even if it didn’t work it would be cool!
