Mike Firth is a hobby glassblower in Dallas, Texas. His site includes a great page on a variety of techniques that can be applied to reclaimed glass bottles, including several methods of cutting them. The site also describes more exotic bottle-working techniques like slumping, stretching, drilling, and blowing out.

  1. This glass bottle cutting thing is something I might need/want in the future. But I can’t save the entire internet in case I might need it. What about a Maker’s Wiki, where techniques/technologies can be documented for later use? I think we need to pool our knowledge in a more efficient way than just reading a paragraph on a blog here and there.
