Google’s sponsoring free wifi this holiday season at 54 airports in the states, through January 15th. Some airports already had free wifi (Phoenix and Seattle recently for me, keep on doin’ it right, guys!), but for those that didn’t, this promises to take the sting out of that snowy delay or congested terminal. My RSS reader would sing carols if JFK were on that list!

    Some airports, like Wichita Mid-Continent (ICT) always have free wifi

  2. Portland, Oregon airport (PDX) has had free wifi for 5 years now.

    SSID = flypdx

  3. las vegas already has free wifi too, i noticed the google banners last nite when i flew into vegas.

    so hopefully this doesn’t mean after the “free” period it’ll go paid.

    Probably just google becoming evne more evil, i wonder what they’re getting out of it, more data snooping or a trial run?
