Josef Průša (HavlÃÄkův Brod, Czech Republic) is a maker, DJ, and contributor to our own iPhone Hacks. He’s the first to build a ShaperCube, an open source 3D printer based on RepRap:
We have new printer and I have to say awesome one. ShaperCube. It’s completly made of Aluminium. You can see few pictures of printer at his creators flickr. Joachim Glauche’s flickr.

Very neat to watch. Was looking at their website and this caught my eye: “On bug fixes and improvements that are made to the design, we’ll provide printable upgrade parts if possible”. It only now occured to me that the printer could possibly make replacement parts for itself. Sexy.
I doubt there is much technology that is pseudo-self-reparing. I guess a Car can take itself to a shop, if that counts. Computers could be self-repairing, software wise, but i’ve yet to see it. I would say self-diagnosing would be great but images of clippy come to mind *shudders*
The only thing sexier than self-repairing technology is shirtless soldering — now THAT’s sexy!
