Ah cool, I remember seeing something like this in a movie long ago – Lethal Weapon or so? If only I could remember… They did it in a terrarium.
    …good old days. :)

@Bryon – i’m not going to delete your comment, but i will to encourage you to participate here not based on which makers you deem attractive – please participate and add value based on the projects and work. it’s increasingly difficult to encourage 50+% of our species to get in to science and engineering when the feedback they may (often) receive consists of “HOT”. please try harder, this isn’t hot or not, it’s MAKE. thanks.

Even though mason jars are strong, don’t seal one off and then heat it with a torch. That’s a good way to get a faceful of exploding glass from the pressure of the expanding air inside. At least leave the top a bit loose to let the pressure out. Probably a good idea to avoid inhaling the fumes coming out from the cyanoacrylate too. And always wear eye protection even if you think it’s safe. Yeah it sounds like your mom telling you to wear a jacket, but it really did save me from some serious damage to my right eye one time, and all I was doing was drilling a hole in a piece of wood. Nanny mode off.

FYI, illuminating the fingerprints from the side with a laser allows you to see them easier. Even on irregular objects.
