“My Homemade Stargate” via HaD. Mango writes -
I’ve had a few pms from people asking about the stargate that my dad and I have been building out in our backyard, asking for an update to how its going. The truth is, we havent touched it in months.
I said i would have an update by the start of the new season so i guess this will have to do. I still need to repaint it and fix the chevrons but times are a bit tough at the moment and i simply cant afford the $40 tin of paint to paint the bloody thing. ANYWAY….
It all started on paper. Actually it started on AUTOCAD for drawing the blueprints. Since the US-Navy were unable to send us the blueprints we had to kinda draw them from scratch using pictures and video footage, trying to get as many of the little details as exact as possible.
Stargate Universe is pretty gritty, and I like that – but I still miss Teal’c.

There’s also a great video accompanying the work!
