The maker of the Netduino powered Morse code interpreter admits that it’s a completely pointless project. However, he leaned a lot about programming and problem solving during the build process, so it really isn’t so useless! I’d love to see this project at Maker Faire blinking and translating messages you sent it via a smart phone.

As someone with many apparently completely pointless projects under my belt I can say that in reality, although seemingly pointless to other people, every single one has been very worth while to me. This is actually a neat little project! It’s always good to see other people doing things just for the hell of it. So yes, not useless at all!
I agree. Nothing is pointless when you’re learning something. Just a step to the next great invention.
