Dominic Wilcox wants £159 for his 2002 piece War Bowl, which may make some amount of sense since Wilcox is a fairly well-established “name” artist, and the piece itself has been exhibited in various fancy places. Still, you can make your own version by partially melting a bunch of army men in a glass or metal bowl in the oven, and it’ll cost you just a buck or two. [via Gizmodo]

I see the artist of this bowl came from britain, I’m suprised it´nt shows like art of America
Wonder where a Yankee like myself can get these little British soldiers… probably Britain. They’d be cool for wargaming. Anyone know where you could find soldiers like this in the US?
I have bought tons of various army men, police, firefighters, and cowboys and indians but have never seen these.

This concept appeared in a David Sedaris book. David was failing as an artist and after seeing one of his “pieces” his father jokingly suggested David cook army men and claim the piece was about man’s inhumanity to man.
