When I posted these videos of classical Japanese metal artist Ford Hallam, it struck a nerve in a lot of our readers. I got email, we got enthusiastic comments, and lots of people said they passed it on to other sites, to friends, and across their social networks. The consensus was: “This is one of the most inspiring things I’ve ever seen.” It reminded me of another amazing video I posted here years ago which also fired up readers’ imaginations, Claude Paillard’s “Making of a Triode” video:
So, this got me thinking about other such videos, either ones we might have posted here on MAKE, or from across on the interwebs, that fill you with deep maker wonder, awe, and that unbearable itch to get out your tools and start making something. Please share your links in the comments below. I’d like to maybe start a page of such inspirational videos.

I’ve never actually used anything with vacuum tubes but just watching how their made is so interesting
Pretty much all of feynmans videos leave me in awe of the universe etc. That’s if you’re a science-y person!
This isn’t really a Maker video but it is strangely therapeutic to watch:

Mike Jarvi making one of his one-piece benches
This video would be so much better with different music.
Here are two of my favorites that came to mind-
Tartine Bread – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5kKeKSfyOE
Shinya Kimura, motorcycle builder – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qx0WNEUm-MY
Alone in the Wilderness (building a log cabin in Alaska).
Interesting…!!
