Portland, Oregon resident Greg Tanous designed this superhumanoid R/C airplane that is almost certain to delight any child, inner or outer, who beholds it. Given the unbridled awesomeness of its subject, I am inclined to forgive the er, enthusiastic rock music soundtrack in this video, but feel obliged to warn of it. Greg sells plans and full kits for several of his designs.

  1. Screw the planes and helicopters, I want one of these.

  2. It’s a bird!
    It’s a plane!
    No, it’s…wait, it’s a plane!

  3. This is…awesome!

  4. Hey, I live in Portland, too.  Too bad you couldn’t add a cloth body to make it more dimensional.  Adding a jet pack would also add to the realism as would flying it around office buildings downtown but the police wouldn’t like it.

It is cool, but the camera man sucks. Why would you film the whole
flight zoomed in? You can see it up close when it is on the ground, we
don’t need to see it close the whole flight. I would have liked to see
    it from afar.

  7. I want to paint this up like a super-hero costume.

Fly it in full view of a lot of people, land it behind fence, and casually stroll out from behind the fence in the same costume.

  8. Yeah, that would be aces – I can just picture their faces.
