Kim Pimmel of San Francisco, CA, created this “experimental art video of ferrofluid and bubbles.”
I combined everyday soap bubbles with exotic ferrofluid liquid to create an eerie tale, using macro lenses and time lapse techniques. Black ferrofluid and dye race through bubble structures, drawn through by the invisible forces of capillary action and magnetism.

Kim could use argon to produce bubbles they run charge though fluid.
I’ll be using this video to teach about capillary action and porosity. I think it is beautiful and makes science fun instead of dry. Thanks Kim.

That’s awesome. I’d think someone would be happy to license it for a music video.

Lovely!
Very nice video footage
Your the first person to think of video taping ferrofluid through soap and it came out amazing. I sell ferrofluid toys at http://www.czferro.com and would like to use this in my artist blog with your contact info
