Building robots is easy if you have the right parts. This Make: Project shows you how using readily available items from the Maker Shed. All you need is a 4WD platform, a motor shield, a PING))) sensor, and an Arduino Uno. Put everything together, load the code, and you’ll have a great robot platform to build from. Good job Nick!

The first Arduino robot I made was with the DFRobot 2WD instead of the 4WD platform. I didn’t think the 4WD would be able to turn that well. The reason why it does is because the wheels themselves to not ‘grip’ very well. They are rather slippery. This is great for turning…. but terrible for climbing up an incline.
I made a similar robot using the Dagu Rover 5 chassis.
