Paul Kinsky, whose laser-cut polygonal sculptures appeared here earlier this year, has created a polygonal mask of a rhino, way cool!

This one’s using coroplast instead of acrylic for the triangles, which is what they make those political signs out of. Basically plastic cardboard. The beauty of this is that its slightly flexible, making the whole assembly much stronger. It also lets me ditch the pins I was using to attach the connectors to the triangles. Because the the coroplast deforms slightly, I can just snap the acrylic connectors on. It actually makes a very solid hold.

I’m also going to be polishing up and open sourcing my code over the next term. I landed a project over the next term getting it to the point where other students at my college can use it, fixing bugs, that kind of thing. Since I’m already going to be doing that, I’ll just open-source the whole thing.
