Alex Dumas of Sci-High Models took Editor’s Choice in Starship Modeler’s 2010 Just Glue It contest with this 1/87 scale replica of the Swift, a spacecraft from the late-70s British TV series Space: 1999. Do not miss his wonderful work-in-progress shots, one of which I’ve included, below, to show off the remarkable patience and skill used in building up the compound curves of the command module.

Resin kits cast from this model can be purchased through Alex’s page, and high resolution pictures downloaded from his Flickr set.

Watched this show when I was quite young. I remember the Eagle’s quite well but don’t recall this particular ship.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the “Swift” only appeared in a single episode.
Yeah, just one episode.
I bought the series on DVD as an adult, and was promptly appalled by the scripts, but the model making was fantastic. I have a 4 foot long eagle somewhere in my parent’s attic…
