When I was a kid, I worshiped the 1960s Ford Mustangs. I made every model of them I could get my hands on. I could still probably trace the outlines of one in my sleep and tell you what was on the plastic sprues. So, I have to say, the idea of buying one of these full-size body repros of the 65 (for $15K) and then adding my own hunted down engine, axles, interior, etc. looks like a fun, albeit ambitious, project. There’s a healthy market of reproduction parts for these ‘Stangs, so amassing the parts wouldn’t be hard. I just wish it came on sprues. [Thanks, Dan Woods!]

  1. Waiting for the ’67 coupe myself.  Probably not going to ever see it, though….

I’m with you on your choice of pony car, but you’re in luck!

If you click through the link to the article, you’d see that the company Ford is contracting to do this already makes the ’67 fastback. The announcement is just stating that they are adding the original body style to their offered selection.

  2. Pro: Hollywood can now not risk damaging real vintage cars for productions.

Con: Now, the value of the actual vintage cars are going to drop.
