DIY Manufacturing Spotlighted at Kickstarter

DIY Manufacturing Spotlighted at Kickstarter

Yesterday, Kickstarter, the popular crowd-funding platform, launched their 2011 year in review of success stories highlighting four categories of projects: Dreaming Big, Civic Projects, Current Events, and my favorite, DIY Manufacturing! From an Open Hardware 3D printer that netted over $800k dollars in crowd-sourced funding, to an Arduino game adapter, 2011 was a great year for DIY hobbyists-turned-entrepreneurs! I can’t wait to see what 2012 has in store. The review immediately reminded me of Phil Torrone’s article from October 2011, How Open Source Hardware is Kick-Starting Kickstarter.

This is amazing! I used kickstarter to raise funds for a short film I produced. It really works and the story above is truly incredible. Check out my blog at http://www.benlustig.com
