If you’re celebrating Love Day this year, and could’t make it to the Kwik-E-Mart before they sold out of Lord Huggington, you might consider going the handmade route, in which case you could probably do a lot worse than a dozen of these realistic duct tape roses from Instructables user DIYHacksAndHowTos.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go outside and assemble Love Land. [via CRAFT]

Don’t know if I’m too sleepy, but I cannot find the directions for making these roses. My scout troop would love to make them….

Um, I’d like to try and make these, as they’ll cheer up my boring old flat room real quick!
Very cool and creative. Don’t think I could make one as pretty though.

I really liked the roses. I will try this my self. My hobby is wood crafts but I am wanting to try new arts and craft ideas and the duct tape looks like a good place to start. Thank you so much for the idea.
I really love these roses! I’ve seen them done step-by-step on YouTube. FYI Walmart sells “Duck Tape” which is a big square of colored duct tape. I haven’t priced it out, but it might be worth it for convenience.
just made half a dozen for my moms birthday with some old guitar strings, and I’d like to add the center peice should of course have a (stiff) wire, while the next 3-4 layers do not need anything at all. Also, I had trouble on some peices getting the tape to stretch around the base and stick, so I found if you cut the strip of tape into a small point (think like the top of a fence post) before you fold it over, it allows for more of an exposed underside to stick. This takes a bit more time but far quicker than if it rips or trying to use glue .
