Great beginner kit, although the book is extremely limited and despite being a 2nd edition, doesn’t correctly reference the Arduino sketch library.

This kit is an interesting choice for people wanting to explore Arduino — one the one hand it is an inexpensive introduction, but on the other hand, it offers very little capavity for creating anything functional. Depending on how you like to learn / reward yourself for effort, you might want to look for a kit that is capable of producing a more meaningful /useful application.

great kit, the only problem is that there is no documentation as to specs for the included LEDs or what the right way to solder up the plug for the 9V battery.

Mine is on its way, I am very excited especially since I don’t know squat about electronics, at least at this level.

  4. Jeremy Parisi says:

Just an FYI. Some of the kits in Radio Shacks may have the Rev 2. version of the Arduino. Mine is, and since I’m still learning as I go it hasn’t caused any problems but if that matters just a heads up.
