The Purdue Society of Professional Engineers team smashed its own world record for largest Rube Goldberg machine with a 300-step behemoth that flawlessly accomplished the simple task of blowing up and popping a balloon – setting the new world record for the Largest functional Rube Goldberg machine, according to World Records Academy.
Make-Blog and BoingBoing should just set dueling scripts to copy each other’s articles. (eventually the whole thing would become an Enigma-like polyalphabetic replacement of itself)
Yet it only got second place in the competition

That isn’t the world largest by any means. The things they do on Chain Reaction dwarf this. Perhaps you mean the most complex?
