I have made several railbikes since the mid 80′s. I’ve had total failures to very successful ones, fast (but dangerous) ones, simple and complex. My most successful one to date can be seen if you Google, “walz, adirondack, railbike. Even then, this design had its shortcomings and has sent me back to the drawing board. The pictured railbike above is based on the no-weld Bentley Railbike for which plans are avilable. Google that too and you’ll see a rather large site dedicated to the Bentley Railbike. The bike in the picture above seems to be missing the guide mechanism. The Bentley works very well but again, has its shortcomings.
