This spectral character has been hiding in the shadows of the Gaslamp Quarter of lower San Diego and scaring the stuffing the out of conference goers as they walk by and he swoops out of the darkness. It’s amazing how unsettling it is when you can’t see someone’s face and there’s all of this inexplicable stuff coming off of him (feathers and veils). And the pitch blackness. Some people loved the fright, others were not amused. I tried to talk to him (I asked: “Do you have a card?” which got a laugh from the crowd), but he wouldn’t break character. I wanted to see if he’d come to Maker Faire.
