Christopher Monaco decided that his normal, run-of-the-mill Etch-a-Sketch wasn’t quite cool enough, so he built his own from an array of 256 LEDs. Turning the knobs blaze an illuminated path, and the user can even shake it to erase what he/she has drawn.

The project is definitely advanced in DIY terms, using AVR and programming in C, but the results speak for themselves.
