Steve, Allen, and Justin of North Street Labs have finally figured out how to see Maker Faire, or any other large outdoor event, in style. The hammock is strung on a custom-welded steel “V” mounted atop a hacked-up electric wheelchair base. It carries a pair of big lead-acid batteries  for power and sports a PS/2 controller wired through an Arduino for steering. There’s also a handy place to sling a beer cooler. More details are available through the group’s website, linked below, and if you’re coming to Maker Faire New York, you can check out the hammock itself over in the Red Bull Creation corner.
