From all of us to all of you: Happy making! (Gregory Hayes / MAKE)
The lights are out, the doors are locked, the diet coke is all mopped up or washed away, and the curtain has come down on the third annual World Maker Faire New York. WMFNY 2012 marks the fifteenth “flagship” Maker Faire since the very first event back in 2006. Warm and heartfelt thanks to all the makers, volunteers, visitors, sponsors, and staff at the New York Hall of Science for helping to make World Maker Faire New York 2012 one of the greatest Maker Faires ever, in spite of the rain! See you in seven months in San Mateo!
P.S. Can’t wait that long? Licensed Mini Maker Faires happen several times a month in cities all over the world! Check now to find the next event closest to you!

Hey thankyou everyone! I had a wonderful geek-day-out. Everyone involved should be proud of themselves
Awesome job you guys! What an incredible event.

Here’s a new platform for making stuff: NASA’s next-gen mission operations software,Open MCT, actually is a general purpose software platform for object-oriented style user interfaces (http://openmct.blogspot.com/2012/08/object-oriented-guis-are-future.html). It is open source, and extensible by writing and adding plugin files! The demo version is trivial to download and run. Be sure to add the example plugins! We are building a worldwide community around it. https://sites.google.com/site/openmct/
