boombox_monobox-mod

Inspired by the MonoBox Powered Speaker project, maker Tony Barnhill ditched the LM386 circuit in favor of a 7W Velleman kit, driving a speaker salvaged from a karaoke machine he found on the street. He built everything into a thick, 3/4″ MDF box, and stenciled the grille with his boomin’ project name. You can read more about his build over on his blog.

And with this mod the MonoBox officially becomes one of the most modded Weekend Projects yet, even surpassing the endlessly modded Light Theremin project (one of my all-time favorites).

One Response to BOOMin’ MonoBox Mod

  1. Lately I’ve been powering the BOOM Box from a 12v line from my home built solar panel setup. So it’s boomin’ for free! Also I can plug my electric Risa ukulele into it and jam out.
