MAKE is excited to announce that we’re combining all of the project guides and techniques on makeprojects.com with the rich library of content that we produce and curate here on makezine.com. This move will allow you to more easily find our growing collection of how-to guides, skill builders, and the inspiration you need to make.
When you visit the site today and in the coming weeks, you’ll notice a lot of ongoing improvements and changes. Part of this transition means that projects will no longer be on the wiki-based platform that we built with the folks at iFixit and Dozuki. If you contributed a guide on Make: Projects, never fear: your content is still accessible as HTML, and the URL of your projects will redirect to the new home here on makezine.com. If you just recently created a project, bear with us as we import all of the latest content.
As the new platform is no longer a wiki, the option to edit anyone’s guide will no longer be available, but you can still comment and add your thoughts and feedback. Additionally, there are many user profile features that will no longer be active, but we’re working on a new user system going forward that we think will serve you much better.
If you’d like to edit your content on our site, just send us a quick email to obtain access at webmaster@makeprojects.com.
In the next few weeks, we’ll be rolling out a lot of new features, including one we’re calling Maker Profiles, so look for those and lots of other awesome site improvements soon. In the meantime, please bear with us as we iron out the inevitable kinks. We welcome your feedback as always.

veri nice, thank very much
I’d like to know why you are moving away from a wiki style platform. Were people editing others projects and causing problems? From the description above, it sounds like the new platform will be less collaborative than the current one.
