mfba_i-rode-my-bikeJoin fellow bicycle enthusiasts and pedal-power your way to Maker Faire Bay Area on Saturday, May 18th, and receive a commemorative patch. There will be two group rides happening this year, to accommodate riders traveling from north or south of the San Mateo Event Center.

From north of Maker Faire, the ride departs from Dolores Park in San Francisco. The ride is 20 miles and will depart at 9am and take approximately three hours. The journey will pass through South San Francisco, San Bruno, and Burlingame, en route to San Mateo. This ride will accommodate casual riders, as well as a group of riders who prefer to move with haste. More details on this bicycle ride can be found here.

PastedGraphic-2From south of Maker Faire, the ride is 32 miles long, making scheduled stops at specified sites and cities along the way. This ride departs from the San Jose City Hall at 10am and will arrive at Maker Faire sometime after 12:45pm. This ride is strictly cruiser-friendly. More details on this bicycle ride can be found here.

While supplies last, all participating riders will receive a collector’s patch (seen above). The patch is only available to those who bicycle to Maker Faire, park in Maker Faire bike valet, and have a valid ticket. We recommend you purchase your tickets in advance.

There’s more! Everyone who parks at bike valet will be entered into a raffle. Prizes will include a Maker Faire rickshaw messenger bag, subscriptions to MAKE Magazine, t-shirts, and much more. You will find details on the raffle at bike valet.
