RSS feeds on TVs

image16sm.jpgA few readers emailed me regarding this screenshot on the Make Flickr pool. It’s an image of the free NewsGator application on the Media Center PC 2005 to view RSS feeds on your TV, all using a remote control and a “10 foot” interface. Here are a couple more shots. If you have a MCE sign up for the free account through the TV interface using the remote and then log in on the PC side of things to add feeds. It even ticks the headlines across the bottom. I like to pop on BBC, keep it playing in the lower left and have my feeds creep along for maximum info-consumption. Oh, for the podcasters- if there’s an enclosure NewsGator will play it (but won’t download ahead of time yet). I’ll soon have MythTV set up and I’ll be trying out some other TV-RSS readers as well. On a side note, I have iPodder running on the MCE, it grabs videos from Blogdigger as well as podcasts, music- and these all show up in my video and audio list on the TV. On my wish list, I’d like to see a Flickr browser and/or uploader from my TV- I hear that’s in the works. For now, there’s a MCE Flickr pool to show off your set ups, if you got’em post’em.
