Lyric Widget

Indextop20050412 I think we'll see something like this for all music players soon- This Widget for Mac OS X grabs the currently playing iTunes song and gives you the lyrics for it. It checks Lyrictracker.com first and if they don't have the lyrics, iTunesLyrics checks another lyric database. Link.

Of course a lot of people have been asking for lyrics - or better yet karaoke - within iTunes itself...

I'd like to see an iTunes widget where it would take the TITLE and ARTIST and tell you which albums it was on, also indicating the chronological first album it was on. Sometimes I have songs from a "collection" CD, but I don't want it listed as being from "Billboard's Top '80 Classics" or whatever, I'd rather have the songs listed with their original album. Then once I had the name, I could run one of the many available AppleScripts to grab the relvant artwork. My point is that right now searching for the original album a song appeared in is a pain in the ass piece of net detective work.

A similar plugin for (among others) WinAmp has been around for a few years now: (Argentina based) Lyrc. Your song not in the db? You can add it with a few clicks.
Grab it at SourceForge.
