Listen to RSS feeds

Listen Here's a neat site that will speak the RSS feeds (the headlines and news) from many web sites using its PanaVox Speak Perfect Speech Technology. At the bottom of the site there's a link where you can add your own. It doesn't seem read RSS ads (interesting). So anyway, tried it and recorded the output. It read the MAKE feeds from June 8th and it turned out okay, I like that the robotic sounding voice has a Scottish accents. Here's the MP3 I made.

I've been doing this for about a year. I put the feeds in podcasts, though. For example (http://feeds.feedburner.com/bbcworldRebotcast)

However, I never do it without clearing the Copyright issues.

Would you like me to do your blog?

Oh yeah, and I also like to follow the main attribute in the feed item, so you get the full feed item. However, because of the Terms of Use, I didn't do this in the BBC feed.

Feedspeaker (http://www.feedvert.com/FeedSpeaker/) will let you do this yourself if you have the MS speech api installed. Works with most feeds but not all. Also, if you do it, do yourself a favor and plunk down the $35 for ATT Natural Voices because they sound vastly better than the ones you get free from MS.
