The 3rd annual lock picking contest went on at DEFCON. It's pretty amazing to see the wide variety of tools, locks and lock pickers all in one spot and all handily dispensing of most locks in record time. Here are some photos of the lock picking in action (I was able to liberate a couple locks, but there was this young kid who schooled me and did it with his eyes closed, the show off)... Link.

I posted a short audio interview of one of the lockpicking 101 dudes that was manning the lockpick booth. I'm not sure if it's the same fellow that schooled you, but he sure handed me a nice helping of humble pie. Anyway, he had some interesting things to say about lockpicking and the closed-source/security-through-obscurity nature of the locksmith community.
I tossed up a quick deadbolt picking howto as well. Anyone that hasn't tried this before should really give it a shot and see how pathetic most locks really area. It's an eye opener.
