I want to help my daughter Brittany (14) on a learning track that could help her do a high school science fair project on RFID tag distance detection. Can a 125 MHz laser-like radio beam be created? If it were pulsed could that cause the induction field needed to cause a current to flow on the passive chip that would activate the passive RFID device?

Then one could use a device similar to the blue-tooth snipe gun for long range detection possibly? I am just a plain guy with high school electric shop experience. So my knowledge is somewhat limited.
