Livin' DRM free - Simply Audio Books Day 1

Images-112 I've been thinking about using Audio book services that distribute audio books on CD. I'm trying out Simply Audio Books and added Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. I've wanted to read this for awhile; now I can listen to it. As an added bonus, Bradbury reads the book himsel. Here's a screen shot of the audio book added to my "Bookshelf." I'll keep posting once the CDs get here.

Kind of like a NetFlix for AudioBooks - NetText?

However, while it is DRM free, you are actually not buying the audiobook and therefore don't own it. This is nice in that it doesn't "timeout", but unlike other audiobook services, you can't listen to it again later or share it with someone else.

I still prefer audible.com, which with the membership is about $15/month for 1 audiobook & 1 periodical. And unlike 'other' online audio stores (you know who you are iTMS), users can always go back and redownload their audiobooks at any time, even after their subscription has expired.

I'm a member of Simply Audiobooks and i just love their service. I pay 25 bucks a month and I get through around 6-8 audio books a month.

I have tried audible, but you do need to have a digital player and you can't just listen to the books in your car. AND, 6-8 books at Audible would cost me close to $100 bucks.

Three thumbs up for Simply Audiobooks.

BTW I really enjoyed Fahrenheit 451.
